Simba Sports Club collected a point away to Petro de Luanda after a 1-1 draw in Group D math of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League played on Saturday.

Pedro Manuel da Mota Pinto gave the home side a 13^th minute lead at the 11^th November Stadium in Luanda.

But the Tanzania Premier League side fought back strongly to equalize through their Ivorian forward Alain Anicent Oura after 81 minutes.

Simba SC remain bottom of the table I Group D with two points after five matches played. Mali’s Stade Malien top the table with 8 points from four matches played.

In another match Young Africans SC suffered a 1-0 defeat away to AS FAR in a Group B match played in Rabat, Morocco.

The two teams created several scoring opportunities from the start of the match, but the hosts made it count scoring after 85 minutes through Anas Bach.

The loss see Young Africans Sc drop to third place with 5 points, while AS FAR move to second place with 8 points. Al Ahly leads the table with 9 points.

Young Africans SC will next host JS Kabylie on February 15th at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, while Simba SC and Al Hilal SC take on Stade Malien and Saint Etoil Lupopo respectively on February 14^th, 2026.

Sudan giants Al Hilal SC have defeated Mamelodi Sundowns FC 2-1 to go top of Group C in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

Skipper Mohamed Abdelrahman put Al Hilal SC forward from the stop few minutes to half time at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda on Friday night.

Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango had fouled Abdelrazig Omer in the box for the referee to a ward a penalty. Abdelrahman gave Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Onyango not chance sending him the opposite direction.

Veteran captain Mohamed Abdelrahman and Burundian Jean Claude Girumugisha scored for Hilal either side of half-time at the 45,000-capacity Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Early in the second half Burundian International Jean Claude Girumugisha increased Al Hilal SC’s lead with a well taken shot that beat Onyango after 49 minutes.

Al Hilal SC continued to dictate the pace of the match and missing several scoring opportunities. Substitute Arthur Sales pulled a goal back for the 2026 champions.

The South African giants tried to push forward to get another goal, but Al Hilal SC defended well and managed to pick vital three points.

Laurentiu Reghecampf, the Al Hilal SC coach said he was happy with the win after they settled for a 2-2 draw against the same team in South African last weekend. “My players worked hard to make sure we picked maximum points,” said the coach.

Al Hilal now move to eight points, while Mamelodi Sundowns FC have 5 points. DR Congo’s Saint-Eloi Lupopo who face Mouloudia Alger of Algeria on Sunday have 4 points.

On Saturday another teams from the CECAFA Zone Young Africans Sc will host Al Ahly in a Group B tie at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, while Simba SC take on ES Tunis in a Group D match in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Group winners and runners-up after a six-round mini-league phase qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The head coach of Al Hilal SC, Laurențiu Reghecampf has said he is glad his team picked a point in a Group C match away to Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.

Al Hilal battled with a man less to pick a 2-2 draw at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Abdelrazig Omer Taha gave the Sudan giants the lead after 15 minutes, but Arthur de Oliveira Sales leveled matters 10 minutes later.

In the second half Teboho Mokoena scored to put the home side ahead after 64 minutes, but Taha equalized for Al Hilal SC

The Sudan side finished with 10-men after substitute Emmanuel Flomo was shown a straight red card for an elbow on a Mamelodi Sundowns player.

“I think it’s a good result for us, we didn’t keep well in defence, small mistakes that’s why we conceded the first goal, we didn’t take advantage after taking the lead, that’s why I’m happy with the 2-2 draw, because Sundowns fought back,” he said.

“You must understands Sundowns and Al Hilal are two best teams in the group. Now we must prepare well when we host Mamelodi Sundowns on January 30^th,” added the coach.

Al Hilal and Mamelodi Sundowns are level on five points each after three game played in Group C, while St Eloi Lupopo have 4 points, and MC Alger 1 point.

In the other matches played last week CECAFA teams Young Africans SC and Simba SC suffered away defeats.

Young Africans SC suffered a 2-0 Group B defeat away to giants Al Ahly in Egypt, while Simba SC were also stopped 1-0 by Esperance in a Group D match played at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Tunis.

Sudan giants Al Hilal SC have collected a point in their away Group C match against Saint Eloi Lupopo in a TotalEnergies CAF Champions League group stage.

Al Hilal SC settled for a 1-1 draw against the DR Congo side in a match played on Sunday at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi.

Abdel Rayomer silenced the local fans with a 12 minute strike to give Al Hilal the lead.

But the home side grew in confidence, and started creating good scoring opportunities. Petrus Aprocious leveled matters for Saint Eloi Lupopo after 79 minutes to send the fans wild.

The two sides continued to attack hoping to pick maximum points, but to no avail.

Al Hilal are second of Group C with 4 points, with Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) with the same number of points, but a better goal difference. MC Alger and Saint Eloi Lupopo each have one point.

In another game involving a team from the CECAFA Zone, Simba SC (Tanzania) suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Stade Malien in a Group D match played in Bamako.

Taddeus Nikeng Fomakwang and Ismaila Simpara scord for the hosts in the first half, while Neo Maema scored for Simba SC.

The Tanzanian side are now bottom of Group D after two straight defeats, while Petro de Luanda (Angola) and Stade Malien are tied on 4 points each, while ES Tunis have collected two points.
