Football Kenya Federation (FKF) have started the search of a new national team coach after it parted ways with Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee on Wednesday.

It was announced yesterday that coach Mulee together with his assistant Twahir Muhidin and goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande will not be part of the national team any more.

“Football Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, his assistant Twahir Muhidin and goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande have reached a decision to part ways by mutual consent, effective immediately,” said the communication released yesterday.

FKF said assistant coaches Ken Odhiambo and William Muluya will remain in the team as the Federation works to reconstruct the technical bench ahead of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying back-to-back matches against table leaders Mali in October.

Under Mulee the Harambee Stars picked a goalless home draw against Uganda Cranes and a 1-1 away win away to Rwanda in Group E of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers a few days ago.

“FKF is immensely grateful to coach Mulee and his departing members of staff for their dedicated service and workmanship. The Federation wishes them all the best in their future endeavors,” added the communication.

Mulee succeeded Francis Kimanzi in October 2020 when he signed a 3-year contract. But Kimanzi had also stepped down after over one year of being in charge.
