Rayon Sports WFC crowned Rwanda Women’s League champions
Rayon Sports WFC are the champions of the 2024/2025 Rwanda Women’s First Division League.
In their last League match played on Sunday, Rayon Sports WFC settled for a 2-2 draw against Bugesera WFC.
Under coach Iquel Fleury Rudasingwa Rayon Sports WFC finished with 57 points from 22 matches played and lost only one match.
Indahangarwa WFC who stopped Fatima WFC 1-0 in their last League match on Sunday finished second with 48 points from 22 matches played.
Rayon Sports WFC who also lifted the title in the 2023/2024 season will now represent Rwanda in the CECAFA Zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Shema Ngoga elected new Rwanda Football President
Longtime President of Rwanda Premier League side AS Kigali, Fabrice Shema Ngoga has been elected President of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA).
Ngoga who was the sole candidate replaced outgoing Alphonse Munyantwali during the FERWAFA Annual Ordinary General Assembly 2025 held on Saturday at the Kigali Serena Hotel.
Davis Ndayisenga, Manager of FIFA’s Regional Development Office in Kigali, and the Executive Director of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), Auka Gecheo also graced the Assembly.
Ngoga has served as the president of AS Kigali since 2019, a period during which the club secured multiple trophies, including the Peace Cup in 2019 and 2022. He is also the CEO of Africa Medical Supplier Plc, Rwanda’s first publicly listed health company.
Claudine Gasarabwe comes in as 1st Vice President in charge of Finance and Administration, while Richard Mugisha is the 2nd Vice President in charge of Technical Matters.
His mandate is expected to be a four-year term, during which he will be tasked with steering Rwandan football toward greater success on both the domestic and international stages.
