Mukansanga, Njoroge to officiate FIFA Women’s World Cup

_{The Council of East and central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) will have two match officials handle matches at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.}

_{Rwanda’s Salima Mukansanga who also officiated at the recent FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been selected as a centre referee, while Mary Njoroge (Kenya) is an assistant referee.}

_{The world football governing body, FIFA announced the names of the 107 referees and assistant referees on Monday. The list has 33 referees, 55 assistants and 19 in charge of the video. Africa alone has eleven selected including one man.}

_{“ I am happy to get this opportunity again,” said Mukansanga.}

_{The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will take place July 20th to August 20th in Australia and New Zealand.}

_{“As usual, it is the quality that guided our choice. Our selection simply corresponds to the best in terms of women’s refereeing in the world,” said Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of the Referees Committee, in a statement from FIFA.}

_{Morocco is the most represented country from Africa with three women Bouchra Karboubi (referee) Video Match official Adil Zourak and assistants Soukaina Hamdi and Fatiha Jermoumi.}

_{The other match officials from Africa selected include; Vincentia Amedome (Togo), Makalima Akhona (South Africa), Carine Atezambong Fomo (Cameroon), Diana Chikotesha (Zambia), Fanta Kone (Mali) and Victoire Queency (Mauritius).}

_{Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa and Zambia will represent the African continent at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.}
