Mahmoud Jabir elected new Zanzibar Football Federation President

The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) has a new President, Suleiman Mahmoud Jabir.
He was elected during the ZFF elective General Assembly held on Sunday at Kiembe Samaki.
In a hotly contested election Mahmoud Jabir polled the 16 votes, while Kama Abdulsdatar Haji had 15 votes. Juma Hassan Thabit ‘Kaponda’ didnot get any votes.
“I thank everyone who has elected me. I promise to work for the development of football in Zanzibar, ” said the new ZFF President who will serve for two years. The new President is expected to announce his Executive Committee soon.
The Electoral committee chairman Fadhil Ramadhan Mberwa said the elections had ended well. Mahmoud Jabir takes over from Abdullati Ali Yasin who served from 2021.
Before the elections nine contestants picked nomination forms, with seven returning them. But after scrutiny the Committee disqualified four contestants.
