Young Africans SC, Al- Hilal face away tests in CAF Champions League

CECAFA representatives Young Africans SC and Al-Hilal will face away tests this evening in Group ties of the 2023/2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

Fresh from picking a 3-1 win against Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Sudan’s Al-Hilal will be all out to try and collect more points when they face Group C bottom placed ES Sahel in Tunisia.

” We need to keep focused because we are facing a team that has not collected a point yet and are playing at home, ” says Al-Hilal coach Florent Ibenge. Al-Hilal who started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat away to Petro de Luanda are second on the log with 3 points.

Tanzania Premier League reigning champions Young Africans SC will also be in Group D action away to Medeama FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

After losing their opening match 3-0 away to CR Belouizdad and picking a 1-1 draw against African giants Al Ahly last weekend, Young Africans SC who are bottom of the log with one point will be all out to try and pick maximum points.

On Saturday Simba SC will return to action in a Group C match away to bottom placed Wydad AC. Simba SC, quarter finalists last season will welcome newly appointed coach  Abdelhak Benchikha on the bench when they play away in Morocco.
