Uganda Cranes off to Cameroon for Pre-CHAN 4-Nations tournament
The Uganda Cranes team will arrive in Yaounde, Cameroon this afternoon ahead of a Pre-CHAN 4-Nations tournament slated for January 1-7th.
Head coach Jonathan McKinstry said the tournament will help his team shape-up ahead of the 2021 Total Africa Nations Championship (CHAN). “This tournament will help us improve on several aspects,” added McKinstry before the team left Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Tuesday.
Hosts Cameroon, Uganda, Niger and Zambia are the four nations that will take part in the Pre-CHAN 4-Nations tournament.
The 2021 CHAN tournament that will feature 16 teams will take place January 16th to February 7th in the cities of Yaounde, Douala and Limbe.
The CHAN tournament is played among players featuring in only home local Leagues.
The 2021 CHAN tournament will attract defending champions Morocco, Cameroon, Libya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Niger, Togo, Tanzania, Mali, DR Congo, Rwanda, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Uganda and Namibia.
