Head coach of Gor Mahia FC, Hassan Oktay has said his team has what it takes to win the regional CECAFA Kagame Club Championship trophy.

The Kenya Premier League champions beat Djibouti’s AS Ports 2-0 yesterday to qualify for the quarter finals at the on-going 2019 CECAFA Kagame Club Championship in Rwanda.

“We are picking up well and the boys are playing good football. We have what it takes to win the trophy if we concentrate and take our chances,” said Oktay.

Boniface Omondi and Dennis Owalo netted the goals for Gor Mahia FC against AS Ports. The Kenyan side that won their opening game against guest side AS Maniera 2-1 will complete their Group D campaign against KMKM FC on July 14th.

The Democratic Republic of Congo side AS Maniera also registered their first win on Wednesday seeing off KMKM FC 2-0. Dennis Likwera and an own goal by Hafid Mohamed Ali were enough to give the guest side maximum points.
