Hosts Banadir FC will this afternoon face Gal-Mudug in the final of the 2020 Somali Inter-State tournament.

Dadir Amin, the Banadir FC coach made it clear that the game will not be an easy one since Gal-Mudug is a strong team. “We need to be cautious because it is a final,” added Amin.

The two teams settled for a 2-2 draw in the group stages of the tournament.

It will also be the first final match for both teams since the event was launched in 2016. The reigning champions Jubbaland this time failed to make it to the later stages of the tournament.

Banadir will look to stars Nageeye Deeq Mahmoud, Ibrahim Ilyas Ahmed and Idiris Ahmed Bilal who all scored in their 3-1 win over South West State football team in the semi-final, while Gal-Mudug looks to Fu’ad Abdirashid Dable.

The Somali Inter-State tournament was launched in 2016 as a way of spreading football to the grassroots.
