Tanzania Premier League reigning champions Young Africans SC will arrive in Dar es Salaam later today to start preparations ahead of their next 2022/2023 Group D match in the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup Group stage tie.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s side suffered a 2-0 away defeat to US Monastir at the Olympic Rades Stadium in Tunisia on Sunday.

But Nabi is optimistic that they will get back and prepare well for the encounter against DR Congo’s TP Mazembe. “We are getting back home to prepare well and work on some aspects of our game because we need to get a good result in the next match at home,” said Nabi.

Young Africans SC will host former Africans champions TP Mazembe at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday. The Congolese side kick started their Group D campaign with a 3-1 win against Real de Bamako in Lubumbashi last weekend.

Nabi reckons that the match against TP Mazembe will not be an easy task, but added that all the players selected will have to go all out and give more because it will be important to win the next match. “We need to work harder against TP Mazembe,” added the Young Africans coach.

The Tanzania Premier League reigning champions are the only team from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Zone that qualified for the group stage of the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup.
