Young Africans SC face Nyasa Big Bullets in CECAFA Kagame Cup kick-off

The CECAFA Kagame Club Championships will kick-off this afternoon with a group A match between Young Africans SC (Tanzania) and guest side Nyasa Big Bullets FC from Malawi.

Nine teams including the defending champions KCCA FC from Uganda will battle in the tournament which runs August 1-14th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Nasreddine Nabi, the Young Africans SC coach is expected to rest most of his key players for the match that will take place at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Yusuf Mosi, the CECAFA competitions Director says they are set to kick-off the tournament with nine teams taking part. “We are happy to stage this regional tournament now because we believe it will help our teams prepare for CAF competitions starting in Spetmebr this year,” said Mosi.

Fresh from picking a vital win against rivals Silver Strikers FC in the Malawi TNM Super League last Friday, the Nyasa Big Bullets FC team will be expected to enter the stadium today with a lot of confidence.

On Monday three games will be played with Uganda’s Express FC facing Altabara FC (South Sudan) in a Group A match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, while Le Messager Ngozi (Burundi) take on KMKM SC (Zanzibar), and KCCA FC battle Azam FC (Tanzania) with the two games to be played at the Azam Complex, Chamazi.The best two teams from each group will qualify for the semi final stage.

Group A: Young Africans SC (Tanzania), Nyasa Big Bullets (Malawi), Express FC (Uganda) Atlabara FC (South Sudan)

Group B: KCCA FC (Uganda), Azam FC (Tanzania), Le Messager Ngozi FC (Burundi), KMKM SC (Burundi)
