Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC will tomorrow face Egyptian giants Zamalek in 2nd preliminary round stage first leg match of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

Tusker will host the Egyptian side at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday in what promises to be a tough hurdle for the home side.

To reach this stage Tusker saw off Djibouti’s AS Arta Solar 4-1 on aggregate, while Zamalek got a bye for being among the top ranked teams on the continent.

Bur Tusker’s head coach Robert Matano has made it clear that it will be very important to win at home before the away tie. “ We have prepared well and the players are determined to get a good result. We know it is difficult to beat Zamalek away from home and so we want to make our first meeting here in Nairobi count,” added the coach.

On Saturday Rwanda Premier League champions APR will also play host to Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), while last year’s quarter finalists Simba SC (Tanzania) play Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Gaborone.

Sudan side Al Merriekh will not have home advantage as they host Zanaco (Zambia) in Egypt. None of the stadiums in Sudan was cleared to host international matches. On Sunday another Sudan side Al Hilal will play away to Rivers United FC in the Nigerian town of Port Harcourt.
