CECAFA Women’s Champions League moves to Dar es Salaam

The CECAFA Women’s Champions League 2022 will now be played in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

Initially the tournament, also the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers was scheduled to take place July 28th to August 10th in Arusha, Tanzania.

Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director today communicated that changes have been made and the tournament will now be played August 14-27th in Dar es Salaam.

“These dates also do affect the AFCON U17 Qualifiers slated for Ethiopia and which will then be moved to September 2022,” added Gecheo.

The drawing of lots for the Women’s Champions League, U-17 and U-20 qualifiers will all take place in Rabat, Morocco on July 20th, 2022.

The eight teams that will be drawn for the CECAFA Women’s Champions League include; She Corporate FC (Uganda), Simba Queens FC (Tanzania),  Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan), Warrior Queens FC (Zanzibar), Fofila PF (Burundi), AS Kigali Women’s FC (Rwanda), GRFC (Djibouti) and last year’s runner-up Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
