CECAFA teams prepare for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers

Five teams from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) are preparing ahead of the second round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The first leg second round matches will be played February 2-6th, while the return legs are slated for February 9-11.

Djibouti who were expected to face Equatorial Guinea got a walkover to the third round and they await to face the winner between Burundi and Botswana who play their first leg on February 6th.

Tanzania who qualified for the 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup that took place in India will have a tough hurdle against Zambia, while Ethiopia take on South Africa.

Kenya will battle the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Uganda face Cameroon with the first leg to be played at the St. Marys Stadium, Kitende on February 6th, 2024.

The best three teams that win after the fourth round will qualify for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to take place in the Dominican Republic.
