The Council of East and Central Africa and Football Association (CECAFA) take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt condolences to the people of Kenya, family and friends of legend Joe Kadenge. We recognise Kadenge as one of the best football players from the region who graced African football with colour and class.
Kadenge is among the  pioneer Kenyan players who played for the pride of the nation. The President of CECAFA Dr. Mutasim Gafaar, the entire CECAFA council and myself wish to express our sorrow for the loss that has hit the region. We recall, when CECAFA honoured Kadenge in a special ceremony in Tanzania in 2000 and the moving  speec he made on that occasion.
In respect of this fallen hero, CECAFA will honour him with one minute silence during the on-going Kagame Cup in Rwanda and the CECAFA flag will fly at half-mast for the next two days.
May God rest his soul in peace.
