CBE’s Loza Abera leading scorer’s chart
The qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League 2022 – CECAFA Zone enter the semi final stage on Wednesday.
Ahead of the two matches Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC skipper Geinore Loza Abera leads the scorers chart with nine goals. She started the campaign with intent and hunger for goals netting five goals in the 9-0 Group A win against Warriors Queens FC from Zanzibar.
In the second match she followed it up with a hattrick in the 5-1 win against Burundi’s FOFIFA PF and added one goal in the 2-0 victory against AS Kigali WFC (Rwanda).
“I know it is the knock out stage we are heading to on Wednesday and I am still hungry to score more goals to help my team qualify for the final,” says Abera who was also the top scorer during the qualifiers least year held in Nairobi, Kenya.
Medina Awol Busser, also featuring for CBE is second on the chart with six goals, while AS Kigali WFC’s Zawadi Usanase and Uganda’s She Corporate FC’s Phiona Nabbumba have netted five goals a piece.
Another She Corporate FC player Favour Danielita Nambatya and Stephen Debora Luka Alworonga Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan) have each scored four goals.
After the group stage a total of 58 goals have been scored, while 31 yellow cards have been dished out and two red cards.
