The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has allowed two Tanzanian teams to have 10,000 fans during their respective CAF matches this weekend.

Simba SC will face the Democratic of Congo’s Vita Club on April 3rd in a Group A match of the CAF Champions League, while Namungo FC take on Nkana FC, all in Dar es salaam.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) communicated on Thursday that CAF has cleared each of the clubs (Simba, Namungo) to allow 10,000 fans each.

Because of the tough COVID-19 protocols in respective countries some CAF matches have been played without fans, while some got clearances to have a certain percentage of fans.

Victory or a draw for Simba SC against Vita Club will see them book a place in the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League. Simba SC currently lead Group A with 10 points, while the reigning champions Al Ahly are second with 7 points. Vita Club have 4 points, while Sudan’s Al Merreikh only have one point.

In the CAF Confederation Cup Namungo FC are yet to pick a point after losing away to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca and Pyramids of Egypt.
