CAF approves dates for 2020 Total African Nations Championship in Cameroon

The executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the dates for the 2020 Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) to take place in Cameroon. Chaired by the President Ahmad Ahmad, the CAF Executive Committee (ExCo) approved the dates during it’s second statutory meeting of 2019 held in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.

The Exco approved that the final phase of the CHAN Cameroon 2020 will take place April 4-25th.

A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final of the CHAN 2020 tournament, including Cameroon which qualified automatically as hosts. The CHAN tournament for only national team players who are playing in their country’s own domestic leagues.

Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda are the teams that qualified to represent the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) region at the tournament.

The other teams that will feature include hosts Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
