The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia’s forward Medina Busser has vowed to lead her team to qualification for the inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.

Busser was in good form to score a hat-trick yesterday to help the Ethiopian side defeat Vihiga Queens (Kenya) 4-2 in a Group B match of the Zonal CECAFA qualifiers on-going in Nairobi, Kenya.

“It is a very good feeling to score three goals and help the team win the opening match. I will keep working hard to help the team make it for the final tournament,” added the talented Busser.

The forward told Cecafaonline that although she has just joined the team and played the first match against Vihiga Queens, she has blended in well. “I like the kind of football we are playing as a team, although we also need to be tight in defending,” added Busser who caused the Vihiga Queens defenders all sorts of problems with good spacing, sharp dribbling, passing and finishing.

Busser is now the leading scorer in the Zonal qualifiers, while Fazila Ikwaput of Lady Doves FC (Uganda), and Maurine Achieng (Vihiga Queens, Kenya) and Flavine Mawete Musolo (Simba Queens, Tanzania) have each netted two goals.
