Kagame Club Championship
Azam, APR and Gor Mahia through to quarterfinals, as CECAFA-Kagame cup enters 4th day
Azam FC (Tanzania) APR (Rwada) and Gor Mahia (Kenya), have all booked their places in the quarter finals of the 2015 CECAFA-Kagame club cup, currently taking place in Tanzania.
On Tuesday, the 4th day of the tourney, APR FC of Rwanda confirmed their place in the quarterfinals when they beat Somalia’s Heegan FC 2-0 in a hotly contested match played at Karume Stadium here in Dar Es Salaam.
The Somali side exhibited well in the defense and mid-lines of the battle, but had poor attacking ambitions, while the Rwandan side APR, who had already accumulated three points from Sudan’s Al Shandy, were committed to culminating in the quarterfinals, exactly as they did.
On the other hand, in the National stadium, Tanzania’s Azam FC defeated Malakia of South Sudan 2-0 and are now in the quarterfinals with 6 points, as well. On Monday Khartoum National thrashed Djibouti’s Telecom by 5-0 in what was seen as the biggest humiliation since the tournament commenced last week.
