The President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has rewarded the national football team, Cranes with US$1 million for reaching the Round of 16 at the on-going Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

“I’m very happy that the Uganda Cranes went up to the last 16. I know we will perform better next time. I will organize 1 million dollars with the government to distribute it among the players and officials,” said Museveni on Monday evening as he hosted the team at the State House in Entebbe.

Museveni noted that although the team did not win all the matches, they made good effort and achieved some reasonable success.
