2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup kick-off
The 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup will kick-off today with two Group C matches at the Kigali Stadium.
Somalia’s Heegan FC will take to the field first against guest side Green Baffaloes FC before home side APR FC battle Uganda’s Cup winners Proline FC.
Nicholas Musonye, the Secretary general of the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) said he expects a very competitive tournament.
“I am positive the guest sides from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia will spice up the tournament and give our teams a good test ahead of continental football,” added Musonye.
Former African champions TP Mazembe and AS Maniema Union who replaced DC Motema Pembe (Congo) and Zambia’s Green Baffloes FC are the guest sides in the tournament which will run July 6-21st.
