Hosts Sudan suffered a 1-0 defeat to Zambia in their second international friendly played at the Al Hilal Stadium in Khartoum on Sunday evening.

It was a revenge for the Chipolopolo after the Falcons had picked a 3-2 win against coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s team in the first friendly played two days ago.

The two teams created several scoring chances before Amity Shamende netted the lone goal for Zambia after 88 minutes.
It was also Zambia’s first win from the four international friendly matches they have so far played in June. Sredojevic’s team lost 3-1 to Senegal, drea 2-2 with Benin and lost 3-2 to Sudan.

Sudan handled by Hubert Velud used the two friendly matches to prepare ahead of their preliminary match of the FIFA Arab Cup slated for June 19th in Doha, Qatar.

Besides preparing for the FIFA Arab Cup, the two teams also used the friendly matches to prepare ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers that kick off in September.
