Zanzibar’s Mafunzo SC charter flight to Angola for GD Interclube tie

Zanzibar Premier League side, Mafunzo SC chartered a flight last evening to Angola ahead of their second leg match against GD Interclube in the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

The Angola team won the first leg of the first preliminary round 1-0 last weekend. The return leg will be played on September 18th in Luanda.

Management of Mafunzo SC decided to charter the Al Salaam Air flight because it would be more costly and draining to the players using commercial flights.

In the other TotalEnergies CAF Confederation matches lined up this weekend Azam FC (Tanzania) carry a 3-1 advantage will face Horseed SC (Somalia), while Uganda Revenue Authority FC who won the first leg 2-1 play away to Ethiopia’s Coffee SC.

Burundi’s Bamamuru FC could face a tough task away to Diables Noirs in Niamey after the two teams drew goalless in the first leg. Sudan’s Al Ahly Merowe will host Atlabara FC (South Sudan). The Sudan team won the first leg 2-0.

The other matches involving CECAFA teams will see AS Kigali  (Rwanda) host Olympique De Missiri-Sima, while Tanzania’s Biashara Unitd Mara host FC Dikhil from Djibouti.
