Zanzibar win against Rwanda excites Coach Swalehe Mohamed
The head coach of Zanzibar’s U-15 team Maalim Swalehe Mohamed has said he is excited that his team made a good start in the on-going CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship.
Zanzibar stopped Rwanda 3-0 in a Group B match played at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Sunday.
Hassan Mwinyi gave the Zanzibar team the lead in the first half, before Nassor Mohammed and Lukman Omar also scored later in the second half.
Mohamed made it clear that winning an opening match in such a tournament is very important for the youngsters to get more motivated. ” We have prepared well before the tournament and starting with a 3-0 win makes me very happy, ” added the Zanzibar coach.
He however made it clear that with many matches still to come they must play every game with caution.
In the second Group B match played on Sunday Tanzania beat Somalia 1-0. After a goalless first half Seleman Kaniki netted for the Tanzania team after 49 minutes.
Action will return on November 7th with Djibouti facing Ethiopia in the first Group A match of the day, before South Sudan take on hosts and defending champions Uganda.
