Yei Joint Stars Women’s Football Club have lifted the 2022 South Sudan Women’s National Premier League.

The Yei based team stopped Munuki WFC 1-0 on Monday in the final played at the Buluk technical Center. Murine Makunga netted the lone goal after 26 minutes.

Head coach Esther Khamis says she is happy that they have retained the trophy and will have the opportunity to represent the country again in the Zonal qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.

“It has been really hard work through out the season and we are glad the players have been positive to be able to retain the trophy,” added the head coach.

The South Sudan National Women’s Premier League organized by the South Sudan Football Association (SFFA) attracted eight teams. The teams were pooled in Groups with four based in Wau and the other in Juba. The best two from each group qualified for the semi finals.
