Vipers SC win 2024/2025 Uganda Premier League title
Vipers Sports Club are the 2024/2025 Uganda Premier League champions.
The Kitende based team clinched their seventh League title after stopping Kitara FC 2-0 at the Royal Part Stadium away in Butema, Hoima on Wednesday.
Vipers SC’s party had been delayed last weekend after they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Bidco FC. But the Venoms made no mistake today scoring in each half through Livingstone Mulongo and Yunus Sentamu to bag the title with one match to spare.
The win sent Vipers SC to 68 points, four clear of second placed NEC FC who also picked a 1-0 win against SC Villa in another match played on Wednesday. KCCA FC also walloped Lugazi FC 5-0 in another match played the same day.
“This is a very sweet win for us. I congratulate all my fellow players, coaches and management of the club,” said Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa.
After securing a place in the 2024/2025 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, the Vipers SC team handled by coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza’s will now shift their attenstion to the Uganda Cup where they are at the semi-final stage.
Vipers SC also lifted the Uganda Premier League titles in 2009/10, 2014/15, 2017/18, 2019/20, 2021/22 and 2022/23.
