Vihiga Queens to know TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League opponents tomorrow

CECAFA Zonal champions of the Women’s Champions League, Vihiga Queens FC will know their opponents for the 2021 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League on Wednesday.

The draw for the inaugural tournament meant for the top women’s teams in Africa will take place tomorrow in Cairo, Egypt.

The eight teams that qualified will be divided into two groups of four each, and the top two from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set the tournament to take place November 5-19th in Egypt.

Vihiga Queens FC beat Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC in the final of the qualifiers to book a place for the 2021 TotalEnergies CAf Women’s Champions League.

The side have enjoyed dominance in their domestic competition winning Kenya Women’s Premier League (FKF WPL) in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The teams that will be drawn tomorrow include; Vihiga Queens FC (Kenya/CECAFA Zone), AS Mande (Mali/WAFU A Zone), Hasaacas Ladies FC (Ghana/WAFU B Zone), Rivers Angels (Nigeria/WAFU B Zone runners-up), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa, COSAFA Zone), ASFA FC (Morocco/UNAF Zone), Wadi Degla FC (Egypt/Qualifed as hosts), Malabo Kings FC (Equatorial Guinea/ UNIFFAC Zone).
