Vihiga Queens FC ready for TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League

The head coach of Vihiga Queens FC, Boniface Nyamunyamuh has said the team is ready to put-up a good performance at the inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt.

Eight teams including the CECAFA representatives Vihiga Queens FC will battle in the competitions from November 5-19th in Cairo.

Nyamunyamuh told Cecafaonline.com that they have beefed up with some few players. “We are going to perfom well and our fans should expect a lot from us,” added the coach.

Team captain Enez Mango also made it clear that they have prepared very well. “Our major target is first to get to the semi final stage,” added the captain.

Striker Jentrix Shikangwa Milimu, the 2021 CAF Champions League CECAFA qualifier Most Valuable Player made it clear that they are determined to go and win. “This is a good chance for us to showcase our talent and we shall give it our best,” added the striker.

The Kenyan side will start their campaign against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on November 6th at the Military Academy Stadium. They will face Morocco’s Asfar Club in the second group game on November 9th, before taking on Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in the last group match three days later.

Group A: Wadi Degla (Egypt), AS Mande (Mali), Malabo Kings FC (Equatorial Guinea), Hasaacas Ladies (Ghana)

Group B: Vihiga Queens FC (Kenya), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Asfar Club (Morocco), Rivers United (Nigeria)
