Uganda to face Burundi in Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup semi final
High scoring Uganda will face Burundi in one of the semi final matches at the on-going Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup in Asmara, Eritrea. The Ugandan team sealed their place as leaders of Group B with a 3-0 win over Rwanda on Sunday.
Abasi Kyeyune who took his goal tally to seven in the tournament scored a brace, while Patrick Ouke scored the other after substitute Travis Mutayba’s spade work.
The win takes Uganda to 12 points with a record 13 goals scored and none conceded. They are the only team that has won all their games in the tournament.
The Uganda coach Jackson Magera said he is proud of his team that has scored 13 goals and conceded none. “The boys have been very disciplined, but we head to the knock out stage now which is very different,” he added.
In an earlier game Tanzania beat Ethiopia 3-1. Saidy Daudy Athuman netted a brace for Tanzania, while Juma Ladaki Chasambi the other. Fasil Eyueal Tsegaye scored for Ethiopia.
The regional tournament supported by FIFA will climax on August 30th with the finals. CAF President Ahmad Ahmad will grace the final.
