Uganda, Tanzania set for COSAFA Beach Soccer

The national Beach teams of Uganda and Tanzania are set to take part in the COSAFA Beach Soccer tournament.

Eight teams will participate in the competition slated for September 25th to October 1st in Durban, South Africa.

Uganda Sand Cranes under new coach and former Switzerland tactician Angelo Schrinizi will also use the tournament to prepare ahead of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to take place in Mozambique next month.

“This tournament will help us try out several aspects as we prepare for the Beach Soccer AFCON. The team has prepared well,” added Schrinizi.

Tanzania’s team who will be making another appearance in the COSAFA competition have also prepared well ahead of the tournament.

Boniface Pawasa, the Tanzania team coach also made it clear that his team has prepared well and they are looking forward to have a good tournament.

Uganda Sand Cranes is placed in Group B alongside Tanzania, Egypt and Mauritius, while Group A has Senegal, South Africa, Seychelles and defending champions Mozambique.
