Uganda, Sudan improve in latest FIFA rankings
Uganda has maintained top spot in the Council of African Football Associations (CECAFA) zone according to the latest FIFA rankings released on October 21st.
After their two wins against Rwanda in the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers, Uganda improved by four places in the world rankings to 82nd position and 16th in Africa. Uganda now has 1297.43 points.
In the CECAFA region Kenya are placed second although they dropped to 104th place in the FIFA ranking with 1189.24 points.
Sudan who will also play at the AFCON next year also improved by four places to 123rd place with 1139.67.
Tanzania who also moved to 130th place in the world rankings with 1123.84 points are placed 4th in the CECAFA region.
Belgium remains the best ranked nation with 1832.33 points, while Brazil are second. Senegal placed 20th on the FIFA rankings are the best ranked African nation.
