Uganda Cranes to test AFCON bound teams Gabon, Mauritania

The Uganda Cranes i set to play international friendly matches against two TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 bound teams.

Coach Milutin ‘Micho’Sredojevic’s team will test Gabon on December 30th, and battle Mauritania on January 1st, 2022. The two matches will all be played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

“Playing against these two teams going for AFCON in Cameroon will be a good test for our players as we also prepare ahead of the qualifiers of the Africa Nations Championship,” said Sredojevic.

The Uganda Cranes coach made it clear that Uganda’s squad will be dominated by mainly home based players. Sredojevic’s team stopped Tanzania 2-0 in another international friendly played on December 9th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Twenty four teams will take part in the AFCON 2021 slated for January 9th to February 6th.

Sudan and Ethiopia are the two teams from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) that qualified to play at AFCON 2021.
