Twiga Stars suffer 1-0 defeat away to Zambia

The Copper Queens of Zambia have defeated Tanzania national women’s team 1-0 in an international friendly match played in Lusaka on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, substitute Comfort Selamani netted the lone goal for the hosts after 66 minutes at the Woodlands Stadium.

Copper Queens created several scoring chances, but found the Twiga Stars defending line strong and up to the task. Donisia Minja and Turkish based professional Oprah Clement also had some chances for the Twiga Stars.

The Zambian team used the friendly to prepare ahead of their departure to Germany for the pre-camping ahed of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup were they will be one of the African representatives.
