Tukumbuke makes CAF Women’s Champions League Best 11 team

Simba Queens striker Clement Opa Tukumbuke has been picked on the first 11 best players of the just concluded 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Tukumbuke who captained the Tanzanian team and helped them finish in fourth position in their debut in the tournament netted two goals in the five matches they played during the tournament in Morocco.

The tournament’s technical Study Group picked Tukumbuke among the forwards on the Team of the Best 11. She is the only player from the Simba Queens picked on the Best 11 Team, while Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria) defender Glory Ubong Edet is also picked.

“I am happy that I have been recognized and picked to be part of the Best 11 team at the end of the tournament,” said Tukumbuke.

Morooco’s AS FAR who beat Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Team 4-0 in the final on Sunday have six players on the team. The players include goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, Aziza Rabbah, Ghizlane Chhiri, Siham Boukhami, Fatima Tagnaout and striker Ibtissam Jraidi. Bambanani Mbane, Boitumelo Rabale and Leolona Daweti are the Mamelodi Sundowns players on the team.
