Thika Queens win 2020/2021 Kenya Women’s Premier League
The Thika Queens Football Club are the champions of the 2020/2021 FKF Women Premier League.
Thika Queens sealed their place after a 3-0 win against Gaspo Women in the finals played yesterday at Nakuru ASK Showgrounds.
Rachael Muema gave Thika United the lead in the first half, moments after Dorcus Shikobe had missed the target for Gaspo Women.
In the second half in-form Esse Akida netted a brace to make sure Thika United lifted the trophy. “I am delighted to score two goals that have helped my team lift the League title,” said Akida.
It is the second Premier League title for Thika Queens who also lifted the trophy in 2016.
However, Vihiga Queens FC will represent Kenya in the Zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League expected to take place in Kenya next month.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) was forced to submit the name of the team representing Kenya inorder to beat a deadline for registration.
