Tanzania Football Summit rescheduled for July

The 2021 Tanzania Football Summit has been rescheduled to take place July 30-31st in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Following the death of the then President of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli in March, the organisers Afrisoccer postponed the summit. The summit was originally meat to take place March 18-19th in Dar es Salaam.

“We expect several participants to grace this first ever football summit in the CECAFA region to take place at the New Library Hall, University of Dar es Salaam,” Peter Simon, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afrisoccer told Cecafaonline.

Simon said the Summit which will bring together different stake holders is one of the strategies expected to forge a way for the development of football not only in Tanzania, but around the region.

Former Senegal national football team midfielder Khalilou Fadiga who also played for Italian giants Inter Milan and English side, Bolton Wanderers is expected to be one of the speakers.

The La Liga representative for Tanzania and Rwanda, Alvaro Paya, experienced Kaizer Chiefs scout Walter Steenbok, Instructor of youth football coaching from Germany’s ITK Leipzig University Martin Hammel and football intermediary from Uganda Gibby Kalule will also speak among others.

Several topics including football marketing and sponsorship, stadium management, E-sports and digital platform in football, revenue generation sources and financial issues associated with football, development of youth and women football and intermediary services in football will be discussed.

The Summit will be supported by Azam TV, Tanzania Football federation, Sea Cliff Court Hotel, Pralena Group Limited and National Bank of Commerce.
