It will be a do-or-die at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon as the Sudan team takes on Nigeria this evening in a Group D match at the on-going TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021.

After picking a goalless draw in their opening match against Guinea Bissau, the Falcons of Jediane will be all out to try and register their first win in the tournament.

Burhan Tia, Sudan’s head coach has already made it clear that his team is motivated to face Nigeria. “We know Nigeria is a good team, but we are also determined to go out on the pitch and try to get a good result,” he added.

Tia says Sudan has beaten big teams before and they are not scared of facing Nigeria who are very motivated after they beat Egypt in their opening match.

Besides Sudan, the other CECAFA representatives Ethiopia are already out of contention for a place in the last 16. The Walis Ibex of Ethiopia lost their opening match 1-0 to Cape Verde, before suffering a 4-1 humbling to hosts Cameroon on Thursday.
