The national team of Sudan registered a 3-0 win against Niger in their second international friendly match played on Thursady in Dubai, UAE.

It was a revenge for coach Hubert Velud’s team that lost 2-1 against the Mena few days ago as the teams prepare for the forthcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sudan scored through Mohamed Abdelrahman in the first half, before Diaaeldin Mahjoub and Samawal Merghani added two goals in the second half.

“We entered the match after good preparations in the past days. We pushed a number of elements in the match and am happy we got a win,” said coach Velud after the match.

Sudan who are camped in Dubai are preparing ahead of a Group I FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Morocco.

The Sudan team has also qualified for the final stage of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup after ejecting Libya and the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

In other friendly matches played on Thursday Ethiopia settled for a goalless draw against visiting Sierra Leone in a match played in Bahir Dar Stadium. On Sunday the Ethiopian team will host Uganda Cranes at the same Stadium.
