Sudan Legends to grace CHAN 2022 draw

Two legends of Sudan football Hytham Mustafa and Mohamed Tahir have been invited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to attend the official draw of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2022.

The draw will take place at the Opera House in the Algerian capital Algiers on October 1st, 2022.

Hytham Mustafa is a former captain of top side Al-Hilal Omdurman and the national team, while Mohamed Tahir played for several local teams and the national team.

The other top African legends who have been invited to attend the draw include; Mohamed Nasnoush (Libya), Aymen Mathlouthi (Tunisia) and Robert Kidiaba (DR Congo), Albelmoumene Djabou (Algeria) and  Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu (Ghana).

Other officials from the CECAFA region including the Executive Director, Auka Gecheo and Ethiopia Football Federation (EFF) President Isayas Jira.

Ethiopia, Sudan and Uganda qualified to represent the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) at the CHAN 2022 which was pushed ahead to take place January 8-31st, 2023 in Algeria.

The other nations that will take part include; Angola, Congo Brazzaville, Mali, Ghana, Niger, Senegal, Mauritania, Madagascar, Libya, Algeria, Mozambique, DR Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and defending champions Morocco.
