The Sudan national team held hosts Tanzania to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly match played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.

Siddiq Gahdia gave Sudan the lead after only two minutes, but Simon Msuva leveled matters after 67 minutes.

The two teams continued pushing forward and created several scoring opportunities, but failed to finish.

Burhan Tia, Sudan’s head coach said that the two matches played against the Central African Republic and Tanzania have helped him assess several things.

Tanzania beat the Central African Republic 3-1 in the first friendly match played last week, before Sudan and the Central Africa Republic settled for a goalless draw.

The three teams used the friendly matches to prepare ahead of the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
