Sudan draw champs Morocco in CHAN 2022
Sudan have been drawn against defending champions Morocco for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2022.
In the draw conducted on Saturday by the Confederation of ASfrican Football (CAF) at the Opera House in the Algerian capital Algiers, Sudan have been placed in Group C alongside Morocco, Madagascar and Ghana.
The other team Ethiopia have been placed in Group A alongside hosts Algeria, former champions Libya and Mozambique. The Uganda Cranes have been placed in a tough Group B that also has former champions DR Congo, Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal.
The Championship that will attract 18 teams will take place in the towns of Algiers, Annaba, Constantine and Oran.
Group A: Algeria, Libya, Ethiopia, Mozambique
Group B: DR Congo, Uganda, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal
Group C: Morocco, Sudan, Madagascar, Ghana
Group D: Mali, Angola, Mauritania
Group E: Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Niger
