South Sudan, Uganda Cranes line-up international friendly ties

The national teams of South Sudan and Uganda will play international friendly matches in June.

Victor Lawrence Lual, the General Secretary of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) confirmed to Cecafaonline that the national team will face Egypt on June 18th at the Cairo Stadium.

“Our national team will first play Gambia in a Group D 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on June 14th that we shall host at the Suez Stadium in Egypt. We shall then have the international friendly,” added Lual.

The Uganda Cranes will also face the Democratic Republic of Congo in an international friendly match on June 14th in Douala, Cameroon.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, the Uganda Cranes head coach confirmed on Saturday that the friendly against a strong side like the DR Congo will help his team prepare well ahead of the Group F TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria.

“We know the match against Algeria on June 18th that we shall play in Douala is very important in the qualifying campaign. The friendly match will give us a good play form to test several aspects ahead of the match with Algeria,” added Sredojevic.
