South Sudan name final squad for CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship

The head coach of the South Sudan women’s national team has named the final squad ahead of the CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship 2022.

Uganda will host the regional Championship from June 1-11th at the FUFa technical center in Njeru.

Shilene Booysen, the Bright Starlets coach announced the final squad on Monday after training. “We have prepared well and I think the team is ready for the challenge,” added Booysen.

South Sudan who are placed in Group B will open their campaign with a match against Tanzania on June 2nd. The other teams in the Group include; Zanzibar and Ethiopia.

The hosts Uganda are placed in Group A alongside Burundi, Rwanda and Djibouti. Kenya who lifted the title in 2019 will not take part in the regional tournament.
