South Sudan face Uzbekistan in Dubai
The South Sudan national team, Bright Star will this evening face Uzbekistan in an international friendly match in Dubai, UAE.
Head coach Stefano Cusin told Cecafaonline.com that they are using the matches against Uzbekistan and Jordan on January 31st to prepare for a busy 2022 season.
He explained that the two matches will help the technical team assess several aspects as they prepare ahead of the preliminary stage of the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.
The South team will face Djibouti in the preliminary stage of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
“We need to keep working hard because without hard work a team cannot be able to achieve,” said the experienced coach. Besides coaching in several other countries like Italy, Iran, Palestine, Cyprus, Cusin was also assistant coach at Wolverhampton in the English Premier League in 2016.
South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea and Djibouti are the teams from the CECAFA region that will play in the preliminary stage of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
