The President of Somali Football Federation (SFF), Abdiqani Said Arab, has today been co-opted onto the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CAF Executive members approved Arab after the President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe had earlier proposed the SFF’s name during meeting held via zoom.

Arab also served as a co-opted member onto the CAF Committee under Ahmad Ahmad whose term of leadership ended on March 12 during the CAF General Assembly held in Rabat, Morocco.

Arab thanked the CAF President Dr. Motsepe and members of the CAF Executive Committee for co-opting him onto the Committee.

“I am happy to have this opportunity which is good for CECAFA and the Somalia FA. I promise the CAF President and other Executive members that I will work towards the development of football in Africa,” added Arab.

The SFF President Arab who has been actively involved with football for about 30 years joins two other members from the Council of East and central African Football Associations (CECAFA) onto the CAF Executive Committee; Suleiman Hassan Waberi (3rd CAF Vice President) and Moses Hassim Magogo (Uganda).
