Somalia appoint Abdellatif Salef as new head coach

The Somali Football Federation (SFF) has appointed Abdellatif Salef as the new head coach.

Salef, a Moroccan was unveiled today at the SFF headquarters in Mogadishu.

Yusuf Muhudin, the SFF General Secretary said the new coach who will be incharge of the junior teams as well has signed a two year contract.

“We are expecting you to produce good results, added the Federation General Secretary who added that Salef’s technical staff will soon arrive in the country.

“Somalia is a football nation. Since my arrival in Mogadishu, I have always seen children playing on the streets of Mogadishu, so it shows that Somalia is a football-mad country,” said the new coach who thanked SFF for giving him the opportunity to coach their national team.

The new coach is expected to start his new assignment when he leads the Ocean Stars in the preliminary match of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 against Oman on June 20th. He will also lead the Somalia team in the 2021 CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup to July 3-18th in Ethiopia.
