Tanzania Premier League side Simba SC faltered after losing to RS Berkane in a Group D TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup tie played in Morocco on Sunday.

Two first half goals were enough for the home side to win 2-0 and move top of the log in Group D.

Adama Ba put RS Berkane in the lead after 32 minutes, before Charki Bahri netted the second after 41 minutes.

Simba SC did not create so many descent chances, but had Kennedy Juma and substitute Bernard Morrison coming close. Five Simba SC players who were booked include; Morrison, Henock Inonga Baka, Erasto Nyoni, Joash Onyango and skipper John Bocco.

While the Moroccan side go top of the log with six points, Simba Sc slipped to third with four points, while Niger’s USGN who beat ASEC 2-0 moved to second with the same number of points like Simba SC, but a better goal difference.

The Tanzanian side will now wait to host RS Berkane on March 13th in Dar es salaam. Simba SC started their group campaign with a 3-1 win against ASEC, before picking a 1-1 draw away to USGN.
