Simba SC pick late draw in Niger

Tanzania Premier League giants Simba SC have pickes a 1-1 draw away to Niger’s US Gendarmerie in a 2021/2022 Group D TotalEnergies CAF Confederations match.

Wilfried Gbeuli gave the home side the lead after 12 minutes at the General Segni Kountche Stadium.

But Simba continued to attack and created several scoring opportunities before the hosts went into the break still in the lead.

After recess Simba SC came back determined to find the goals.

It was substitute Bernard Morrison who leveled matters for Simba after 84 minutes. Morrison had replaced Yusufu Valentine Mhilu midway the second half.

In the other Group D match played today ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire) defeated visiting Morocco’s Berkane 3-1.

Simba SC who picked a 3-1 win in their opening match against ASEC Mimosas are top of the Group with four points, while the Cote d’Ivoire team and US Gendarmerie are tied on 3 points.
