Simba SC head coach happy with RS Berkane win
Simba Sports Club head coach has said he is happy after his team registered a 1-0 win against RS Berkane in a Group D match of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup played on Sunday.
Pape Ousmane Sakho netted the lone goal after 44 minutes to make sure Tanzanian giants pick maximum points at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Pablo Franco Martin, the Simba SC coach made it clear that picking maximum points was a good step. “I am happy that we managed to win the match against a strong side that beat us in Morocco. We need to keep working hard ahead of the two other group matches,” added the coach.
He explained that although they failed to convert the many scoring opportunities created, he is happy that the team managed to hold firm to pick a win. “We need to keep working hard and improve the team especially the attack,” added the coach.
After picking their second win in the Group Simba are top of Group D with 7 points, while Cote d’Ivoire’s ASEC who stopped USGN 2-1 moved to second place.
Simba will next make a trip to Cote d’Ivoire to face ASEC on March 20th, the same weekend USGN host Morocco’s RS Berkane.
